Good Morning! I am Brittany Weisler and I am so excited to start posting on here.
Everyone learns something new every day and I’m excited to publicly express that. Today as my Dad was out of town and we woke up at our usual early time to have family scripture study we began to talk about how a lot of our friends were going to see a movie this Saturday that my parents had read the review for and decided it was not appropriate for anyone in our family to see.
Even though it was rated PG-13 and I am almost 15, my brothers and I had accepted and respected my parents decision in not seeing this movie a couple days ago and were just re-discussing that this morning around the table. My Mom said something that I have heard her say many times before but today it really hit me. She said “In order for us to make a difference, we have to be different.” I really appreciated my Mom saying that and it really rung true to me. I could go see that movie with all my friends, I could do a lot of things… but doing those things is saying I’m just the same as everyone else. I’m not saying I’m better than any of those friends that are going to see that movie, because I know I am not. What I’m trying to say is that we are all here to make a difference and how can we all make our own special differences if we are all being the same?
Brittany Out
Well said Brittany… I am of course very proud of your decision and your maturity to take a stand. It’s hard for me to imagine anyone having read this review http://www.kids-in-mind.com/t/transformersrevengeofthefallen.htm to want to allow that type of stuff into their mind.
Way to GO
Love Dad
